Answers in some languages are time-of-day dependent. I don't know about every language, so you may wish to check if there would be other acceptable alternatives, such as Guten Abend, or bonsoir.

I agree with BombaySapphire. Plus: Methinks that this has been done before - not sure though. Also, not all of these are direct translations of the English "hello". German "hallo", French "salut" should also be acceptable answers.
