Nice quiz. Just difficult enough to be challenging. I was hoping for a 100% but missed a couple. The diamonds clue was a bit misleading as I was looking for a type of scale; how about "diamonds are weighed in ...".

Thank you all for the nice comments and great suggestions, which I have put in the quiz. Now, how come less than 50% of the players know that Cardiff is the capital of Wales???!!

I knew the answer, but there was no way I was ever going to spell "carburetor."

carburetor is one of those words that should be accepted misspelled. nobody is going to know how to spell that.

Due to my Sporcle addiction, I thought this was going to be a quiz about the Central African Republic.

I couldn't spell carabiner! Btw, a carnivore would probably be more accurately described by 'an animal that only eats meat'

cardiac surgeon, cardiac specialist... oh I KNOW there is a singe word for this, what is it... cardiatrician? Whew! Finally came to me. Probably enough for a sequel--cardboard, carton, "surprise" hero of Tale of Two Cities, horse-drawn buggy, carefree, careful, carbon 14 dating, carbine, carp, carpe diem....

Nice quiz but I agree that a carnivore isn't "A person who eats meat" as they are usually omnivores.

were there some clues that were taken out? I didn't have a couple that are referred to in the comments. I had 22 questions. Good quiz but I had lots of time left.

"Cartridge" never occurred to me, since I was thinking of a container for RECYCLED printer ink cartridges, not the cartridge itself. Oh well.

OPEC isn't a cartel, its a group of oil producing nations. Where you thinking of FARC?

I tried every possible spelling of carabiner except the right one. Just now when I typed it, I found out even spell check doesn't know how to spell it. :D

jakeroy, I think you are confused. A cartel is a group formed by two or more business, or producers of oil in this case, to regulate production and prices. FARC on the other hand, is a revolutionary guerrilla army in Colombia.

I don't think OPEC is the best example of a cartel (although it did act as a public cartel). Wikipedia mentions one reference to OPEC acting as a cartel: "Overall, the evidence suggests that OPEC did act as a cartel when it adopted output rationing in order to maintain price" Maybe use a different example instead? Or just define it like this: "A formal agreement among competing firms"

Carnivores only eat meat? I thought it applied to any species that ate meat, in addition to anything else.

@midlifecrisis An animal that eats meat and other stuff, like humans, bears and raccoons, are called Omnivores. Carnivores, like lions, polar bears (which oddly enough are the only bear that are carnivorous) and alligators, eat only meat.
