You should add something in the title or instructions that these countries are also the only countries on that island. I assume that's why you're not accepting Haiti/DR or Timor Leste.

Pretty easy to gather that it's just about nations which have no land borders. However, what might need clarifying is that most (if not all) of these aren't just situated on one island - I have a feeling the inhabitants of Vestmannaeyjar wouldn't be too happy about not being considered Icelandic islands...

Interesting concept, but I agree with the above - it's not clear that this works at all if you mean countries that are 'solely on one island' - some of them will have nearby smaller islands that are part of the country - e.g. Cuba, Iceland, Bahrain.

Also, why isn't Taiwan included? Or Mauritius?

How about drawing some kind of distinction like - nations whose area is at least 95% on one island. Also - while some Sporclers think Ireland isn't an island, I think you should clarify that you mean nations without land borders somewhere.

To add to what has already been said there needs to be a distinction. To use Sri Lanka as an example, it is formed by dozens of islands. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_of_Sri_Lanka Nice idea for a quiz, but a good quiz can't leave any room for question.

Boy do I hate the "Sporcle convention" that Ireland and Haiti aren't island nations.

@carbon-rod: Taiwan is not officially recognised by the UN, so I did not include it in this quiz. Thanks for the suggestions, athough title seems to be getting a bit long now!
