Jimmy Dunne for instance scored a lot of goals both before and after independence, and played for both british Ireland and the free state, so do I count half his goals, all of them, none? It's a difficulty. Two: I had already made a quiz about the top 31 Irish scorers in the english top flight and I didn't want to make this quiz just repeat half the answers of that one. Three: My main scoure on foreign players in England (Nick Harris book on sporting immigration, "England, their england") doesn't include the Irish so I'd worry my data wouldn't be accurate. And, most importantly, four: I just don't like the Irish. |
