| @theJesstar: I suppose the misspelling is in the circumflex accent (ê). The accented ê exists in Portuguese (it's more: Portuguese in Portuguese is "português"), but not in the word "leste" (east), so the name of the country is simply Timor-Leste (hyphenated). Another misspelling seen sometimes is Timor L'este, surely because some people get confused with French, where "the east" is "l'est" (like in Gare de l'Est). |
