I don't think Croatia should be included; it has a crest in the centre which contains other colours.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 17:09 GMT
I know, but there is a note by the asterisk (*) that says that images or graphics on a flag containing many colors does not matter. Also, Costa Rica is similar to Croatia in that it has a graphic in the middle, so, likewise, it is still valid as an answer. I hope that makes sense.

Is this intended to be exhaustive? Shouldn't New Zealand be included?
Jun 28th, 2012 at 23:34 GMT
Not all applicable flags are included. Just like with all the quizzes in this Flags of the World series, only twenty countries are included, which is not necessarily all the countries whose flags apply to the description.

Nice quiz. I would have made it meaner in parts (Botswana might be a nice distraction e.g.). I would also sort the US and the UK next to each other, maybe just drop the "The" as per usual Sporcle standards and resort.

@Ulkomaalainen: Thanks for the suggestion! I took out the "the" and honestly I don't know why I put it there to begin with. If you like this quiz, make sure to check out the other quizzes in the "Flags of the World" quiz series!

Your explanation about emblems, etc. not counting towards red, white and blue should also make clear that they don't count against red, white & blue either (whether or not that applied was unclear to me as I was taking the quiz). You might be safer using Slovakia or Slovenia rather than Croatia, since their other colours are in less prominent features than a big crown. Of course, Serbia or Iceland (esp. since you have the other 4 Nordic countries) would be even safer.

Is there any reason Iceland isn't on here? They're only red, white, and blue as well....

@LuckyLeft: the intention of the quiz is not to include all red, white, and blue flags, as is the intention of all the quizzes in the Flags of the World series.

@shakescene: after about two minutes, I finally understand what you are saying. However, I thought my explanation kind of implied that its ok to have an emblem or picture on a flag, just that it doesn't affect the color count

Great quiz, although the U.K. is spelled as United Kindgom. 5 globes, keep up the good work!

@Maphead: Wow thanks! I completely missed that. I'm usually good with spelling.

@Cate: Does somebody read the instructions? Graphics or pictures with many colours DO NOT count towards red, white and blue!!The creator has to repeat this once and again. But don't worry, CaliRes3, for me everything is allright!!
