	@nikki1810: Vatican City is an independent sovereign state. Regardless, it's accepted as an answer on other geography quizzes, so I would include it for the sake of site-wide consistency, if nothing else.

	@peanut4: If I included every formal title of every country this quiz would be impossible. For the sake of length and difficulty I'm only using general names. I originally had "The People's Republic of China" as a bonus but I eventually removed it. I'm still debating that one, though.

	Added some bonuses for the pedantic among us. I'm trying to strike a balance between correct and accessible, so I hesitate to add political/formal titles that fall outside of common usage.

	@CHOICECOD, I agree completely. If we used the formal titles, then almost every country in the world would be on this quiz (ie Dominion of Canada, Federal Republic of Germany, Commonwealth of Australia). I would go with the titles that are on Sporcles 'countries of the world' quiz.

	Good quiz. I think it's a good to use the "sporcle-common" names too. But I'm so used writing uae so I missed it here. I mean it's only one word... ;-)

	Just out of curiosity, why does it accept uk for United Kingdom but not DRC or CAR for Democratic Republic of Congo and Central African Republic.

	I left out any "The" countries (except one as a bonus), as it's too difficult to judge what is or isn't official, plus I don't want to penalize people for overlooking a questionable, insignificant word.

	can u add (the) gambia in, because that is offically correct, as is the federated states of micronesia. Thats what they show as on other sporcle quizes, also i wrote 'sao tome and principe' and it didnt give it to me, so perhaps add ways of writing things differently, but its a good idea for a quiz

	@dodsface: The fact that you put "the" in parenthesis is one of the reasons why I'm keeping it as a bonus. There are already plenty of alternative spellings accepted, including "Sao Tome and Principe". You must have spelled something wrong.

	excellent quiz - perhaps any questionable ones (China) are kept as bonuses to be added on. Don't go too far though because then youll end up with ridiculous answers

	Really great quiz - but I agree that East Timor should be listed as Timor-Leste, alphabetically at least, even if "east timor" is still accepted as an alternate answer. Also, Saint Vincent should be accepted for Saint Vincent and Grenadines, as it is in other Sporcle quizzes.

	FYI the "republic of China" is a seperate country from "the peoples republic of China". Taiwan is the largest island in the republic of china, but the ROC is the actual country (taiwan is used to distinguish from the bigger china). It should at least be a bonus answer

	@segacs: I'm aware of the acceptance of simply "St. Vincent", but until someone can tell me WHY the shortened version is acceptable I'm leaning towards keeping it as-is. "St. Kitts" isn't acceptable for "St. Kitts & Nevis", so why shortchange the Grenadines? I consider the word pretty integral to the spirit of the quiz. Also, I've changed the main answer to Timor-Leste, everyone's right in that it is the Sporcle-standard.
