| Great puzzle, but I don't like your solution, and think the puzzle should be reworded to avoid it. When you say sum of the second column's numbers, I took that to include the possibility of just one number. You say the word 'numbers' should force an assumption of 2 numbers, thus guaranteeing the 6. This is not needed. If you say 'number or numbers' or some other wording that just means the total of one or more numbers in column 2, YOU STILL GET THE SAME RESULT, only more complicated logic. If you assume only 2, then 468 have to be in 4th column, and just 1 number in 5th row, there is not enough room to put three of 3579 in other columns. |
