| If you're going to accept "James Bond" for the Ian Fleming ones, you should accept "Maigret" for the second Simenon one - he wrote 75 novels about the character, it'd be a little tricky to guess the right one.
This quiz would probably make more sense if you split the list into the categories the original list uses: The Best Tearjerkers, The Best Journeys, etc. (http://www.penguinclassics.co.uk/static/cs/uk/10/minisites/classics60birthday/whatsyourpassion.html). It would explain some of the more esoteric choices from well-known writers - it doesn't seem like they're necessarily supposed to be their overall best. |
