Miami of Ohio's teams are the Redhawks, not the Huskies.

Mississippi State's mascot is the Bulldogs, not Mississippi. LSU should be added to Tigers, Kentucky to Wildcats, Washington to Huskies.

I wonder what makes a Golden Eagle so much more special than a regular Eagle.

Loved it! Much more challenging than I thought. How I managed "Zips" and "Quakers" off the bat, but never got Spartans, Rams, or Owls, is beyond me.

For some reason, I thought Bribers and Grafters would be tops for their respective letters.

I thought about typing Mountaineers, but was like, "nah, there has to be another M with more" then the clock ran out.

I think the only ones to get "Nittany Lions" correct were the ones that went to Penn State, or the ones that cheated.

I'm not surprised that there were only one team for letters like U, Y, and Z, but I can't believe the only N team is the Nittany Lions. N doesn't seem like it would be that uncommon of a letter.

"SI Illinois - Edwardsville" would be "Southern Illinois Illinois - Edwardsville." The correct abbreviation is "SIU - Edwardsville" or "Southern Illinois - Edwardsville."

this quiz needs some updating. Please look at the complete list of schools on this website. You will see that D and I are incorrect! http://www.smargon.net/nicknames/

Tough call livinglegend. Why don't you take a look at the title of the quiz that specifies Division 1 men's basketball colleges. Most of the colleges on your list do not fall into that category.

Under Bulldogs, it should be UNC-Asheville not Ashville. Geoff: Gonzaga is the Bulldogs, not the Zags.

My father, a U Akron alum always told me that the Zips got their name from a brand of rubber galoshes produced one of the rubber companies in Akron during the heyday of the rubber industry in that city. The boots were so named because they had zippers. How the Zips ended up with a kangaroo as a mascot...

Great quiz. It's hard to believe that there's only one N team. There's not that many in the four professional sports either - only the Nets, Nuggets, and Nationals.
