I included Okami because I thought it would be interesting to mix in a more "questionable" RPG, like Zelda (though Zelda didn't make it because I still don't understand the argument for why that's an RPG). As bbainn was already nice enough to point out, the game does have several noticeable RPG elements. "Praise" experience points used to upgrade your health, ink meter, and abilities, customizable and upgradeable equipment, demon scrolls in the overworld that trigger random enemy fights in a confined battle zone, etc. It's certainly not a traditional RPG, and it may not be any kind of RPG at all. But the elements are there, so I decided it was a fair inclusion.
Technically though, you're probably right. |
