Tricky, tricky! At first I thought it was just going to be the greek and roman, but you inserted some egyptian (I think) and there might have been another type I couldn't put my finger on..... Well, I'm very glad I read all the rick riordan books!

I've added two more goddesses and another red herring to possibly shift the balance to make it a little easier. For those interested, the final pantheon count is as follows: five each of Greek and Egyptian, four Roman, two Norse, and one each of Canaanite, Assyrian, Germanic, Celtic, Aztec and pre-Islamic Arabia.

As aleller points out, reading "rick riordan books" offers more help than reading "religion". I wrote to sporcle staff questioning whether religion is an appropriate place for games about greek, roman and egyptian gods, since the audience for such quizzes is those with an appreciation for literature, not sacred scripture.

Its probably equally at home in literature, history or religion. Classics is a blend of all three.

It is reasonable to ask sporcle staff to make a decision about whether or not greek mythology is a religion.

Sporcle said what is mythology today was religion in days gone by.

Centeotl is the Aztec GOD of maize, son of the earth goddess. Not a goddess himself

Thanks, mewkam1. We've changed this answer to the Aztec goddess of maize.

I really need to move beyond the Greek, Roman, and Egyptian mythologies. Excellent quiz.

athena and minerva are the same goddess...just two different mythologies

Wouldn't two different mythologies be two separate goddesses? They might fill the same role, but you're crossing universes here.

Great quiz, loved the source diversity! Not the biggest fan of Thor in the Marvel Comics, but if it weren't for the Avengers I wouldn't've known the gender of such a minor Asgardian as Sif.

Did anyone else think of Obelix when they saw Belenos? I'm most familiar with Gallic deities via Asterix.

I'm sorry, but the absence of Tiamat (Babylonian dragon goddess of creation) forces me to give this quiz a 1... except for the fact that the Egyptian cat goddess Bast(et) IS in the quiz. 2/5.

On Centeotl, while there is debate, Wikipedia says "The majority of evidence gathered on Centeotl suggests that he is usually portrayed as a young man." Not cross dresser, and certainly not woman/goddess.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I was helped somewhat by 25-year-old memories of various scantily clad entries in the Dungeons & Dragons "Deities and Demigods" handbook...

And I'm not ashamed to admit that I was helped somewhat by memories of scantily clad Lisa in the Dead or Alive series, who had a whole line of in-game swimsuits all named for various goddesses and female deities.
