	These are the nicknames that are regularly bandied about on ESPN and other sports stations around the country. There's nothing completely official about most of them (thus the lack of a reference), but a few of them are pretty cool, and I thought people might enjoy a collected quiz on the subject. 	I've never heard 'Guins for the Penguins. Everyone in Pittsburgh, including radio and TV programs, refer to them almost exclusively as the Pens.

	The White Sox are sometimes referred to as the Pale Hose, and Minnesota (NBA) as the Wolves.

	Co_Flo - I'm from Pittsburgh, and they're commonly referred to as the 'Guins. Regardless, Pens is (and has been from the start) accepted as well.

	Yeah, accept "Wolves" for That Team From Minnesota. Also, Hab(itant)s is the best nickname, IMHO.

	Unless it's the shortened version of the nickname (which isn't very common) "Pro Team Nicknames, for Short" as a title seems somewhat redundant. And repetitive.

	Fixed New England and added a Cleveland MLB entry. To address most of the other comments, there are plenty of other nicknames that teams are called (including teams that aren't even on this list). This is a list of the ones that would be most recognizable to an out-of-market audience.

	I'm from Boston and I didn't even guess "BoSox" for the Red Sox. I've heard that name used maybe once ever. Just change it to Sox. (same for the white sox too)

	No one from Boston/Chicago calls their team the BoSox/ChiSox, it's the Sox, so please accept Sox for both. Also, people use Bolts for the Chargers as well.

	Okay, I gave in on the Sox. Nationally, BoSox and ChiSox are used when a distinction between the two might be an issue, but at a local level (or whenever the above isn't a problem), Sox is definitely much more common. Also added Seattle and Oakland baseball (although the latter is a complete freebie). :P

	Doesn't anybody enjoy a challenge? 2 minutes is enough time if you know the answers. It's only not enough time if you're making multiple guesses per team. If you don't know, skip it and move on.

	Yeah, it was added long after the original quiz was created, so the quiz stats basically count it as if it were guessed wrong for all those instances where it wasn't even an option. Same is true for Seattle MLB and Chicago MLB-AL (because it was moved). Sorry, but I don't think I can fix that.
