This is a collection of the most guessed answers on some random Sporcle quizzes. It is a little sports and US centric, I know, it was meant to be that way - though I did try to touch most Sporcle categories at least once. Answers from this quiz are derived from a bunch of (mostly published) Sporcle quizzes. Suggestions are appreciated.

On US/UK #1 Singles (Music), you may want to make it more clear that you want who has the most. My first instinct was to type in songs that have been on #1 the longest.

Can you accept NES for Nintendo Entertainment System? And you take PlayStation, but not PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3 (apparently "Sony" is required in front of those).

Oh, and how about New York as an alternate for New York City?

smart_mom, PS2, and PS3 work, but I will changed it so it accepts those also. NES is written in as an alternate, maybe it was just a glitch. New York is not accepted as an alternate for New York City because New York state is an answer to one column and the city is the answer to another, so I am separating them up

Quiz seems very sports-heavy to me.

but the name of the city is New York, not New York City. Also, Jones gives me an answer in 2 spots so whats wrong with New York giving us an answer in 2 spots?

Consensus, after having to think like the most average person possible for 15 minutes: Average people are weird.

From the ever-so reliable Wikipedia: "The city is often referred to as New York City to differentiate it from the state of New York, of which it is a part." I am trying to differentiate the two so I put it as New York City. There's no way to differentiate Jones or I would, but there is a way to differentiate the two New Yorks.

just plain Nintendo should work. About New York: it is the City of New York, so just New York should work. Last names of athletes come up at odd times (for example, when guessing Johnson in the last names, I got Randy Johnson). You have to either divide them all up or none of them - and I can't imagine how you're going to separate one Mickey Mantle from the other. Make it easier on yourself and just make New York work, since it is the city's name.

I'm thinking that you should accept just 'Mike and Mike.' I'm aware that that is not the full name of the show but still

Yyyeah if there's a sequel, please make it less sports-heavy! What about film or language categories?

Mike & Mike is how it is commonly referred to on their own show. Shaq should be accepted for O'Neal, Nintendo for NES, princess for princess peach, and LA for Los Angeles.

How were so many people found that didn't know Mandarin is the most spoken language. Not even in the top 5 named is rather shocking.

Doesn't take that many, as most people will guess French, Spanish, German, etc. in addition to Mandarin.

"The city is often referred to" does not equal "the actual name is." You are currently asking people to write an incorrect name, which is particularly nonsensical when you consider the fact that it's a category about cities, meaning the "City" part is already implied. And if you truly wanted to differentiate, you'd have to ask for "New York City" and "New York State," which would be silly. It's Sporcle convention to accept "New York" for the city -- I don't think you're going to get much support for keeping it as is.
