That ump better watch his back in Detroit tonight. One of the worst calls I've ever seen.

Yankees fan here. The call was terrible, but Galarraga showed a lot of class by not lashing out and getting the 28th out. Joyce's apology after the game was pretty classy too. We need instant replay.

Indians fan here and I have to agree with Gangsterls. Galarraga and Joyce both showed a lot of class after the game. (Which shows, in part, why the players have always rated Joyce so highly when they rate umps.) This game is going to go a long way toward expanding replay.

I believe, in a case like this, that the MLB can review a play such as that and reverse a call. I remember Cubs fans calling for a Kevin Orie error on the only hit in Kerry Wood's twenty strikeout game. This may well be changed.

Don't blame Joyce, blame the system that doesn't allow for backup--Joyce no doubt feels terrible about this but there is absolutely nothing he can do about it. Hopefully this will spur an expansion of replay.

YoshiEgg25, that's different. The official scorer can theoretically change *how* the runner reached base (by calling an E-1 on the play, although that's a ridiculous stretch), but he can't change the fact that the runner did reach base. At best, Galarraga would get a no-hitter.

Galarraga's was not a no hitter, whether you agree or not.

Watching on mlb.com/live, it was clearly obvious that Donald was out, even from the initial angle. Disgusting.

He showed more class than I ever would have. Congrats to Armando Galarraga. I am a Braves fan and I seriously wanted to throw something. My wife had to calm me down.

@Kevin: Bud Selig can overturn the call, making the runner never reach base and the next batter would never count. He is actually considering whether to change it currently.

Everyone that is talking trash on Joyce better shut up! He will not lose his job, nor will the call be overturned. It is a game where humans participate and not computers. He had the wrong angle and knows he made an error.

I felt like crying when I was watching the game. I've never felt so terrible for any baseball player. I'm a Pirates' fan, so I don't even like the Tigers, but I felt so bad for Armando when Donald was called safe.

Ouch . . . I just made this for fun yesterday night MonteCresta, I got over it 5 minutes after it happened. I'm a Phillies fan, I've got more things to worry about (like hoping Latos doesn't perfect game the Phillies tomorrow)

Unfortunately Selig will not overturn the call. I admire Armando for how classy he was in this situation. He still pitched a great game.

Who cares Galarraga got a "Perfect" new Corvette from General Motors to compensate for Joyce's god awful call.

I'm sure that perfect new Corvette (worth maybe $40,000?) was great compensation to a professional athlete who probably had a nicer car to begin with
