The problem is, the covers are different for the American and British versions.

Either Sirius or Snape is on the back of the order of the phoenix. Pretty sure it's Sirius though.

@schwagirl: It's not Sirius or Snape, it's Lupin, with Tonks and Moody rescuing Harry from the Dursleys. Also it's not a Hedwig, it's another owl.

Nice quiz - I'm always amazed when someone comes up with a new HP quiz idea. Agree with Schwagirl that Sirius is on the back of OOP. A few possible additions: Crookshanks is on the POA back cover (if you counted Mrs Norris, you should count Crookshanks), as is (presumably) Lupin in wolf form (I don't think the wolf/doglike animal is Sirius as a dog b/c we see Sirius' human shadow on the front). There's also a dementor on POA back cover (maybe a bonus?) If you're going to count the inside flaps (I don't know why you wouldn't, as they're direct continuations of the front & back cover art): The basilisk (its eye, anyway) is on the inside flap of COS front cover. Scabbers/Wormtail/Pettigrew is on inside flap of POA front cover. There seems to be a pretty rabid HP fan base on this site, so I think you can get pretty detailed with these.

What is it with you americans? Why call it "Sorcerer's Stone" when its actually "Philosopher's stone" I dont get why they would change it. Do you not understand what a philosopher is!?

We call it Sorcerer's Stone because that's how it was released here.

@Laura4734: publishers, et al., thought that american kids wouldn't find "philosopher's" interesting & that "sorcerer's" would grab a larger audience. the problem is, you know, that it obviously didn't belong to a sorcerer

It might be better to make people answer in order - I'm from the UK and have never seen the US covers (but it sounds like they might be similar in some respects) but managed to complete it in 2 mins by guessing as many relevant characters as I could. Good idea, though!

You could include Pettigrew aka Scabbers on the cover of Prisoner of Azkaban. He appears on the left in the form of a rat.

Peter Pettigrew is on poa and so is a dementor and such. and RS89, It says the American covers, so don't be whining, if you're used to british covers because it told you american, not british.
