	Further proof that Wayne Fontes and Bobby Ross are idiots: Barry Sanders should be on this list nine times, one for each season. Give the ball to Barry, and you won. Simple as that.

	umm actually no. There's a reason they would pull him out of the game on first and goal. Barry is good at getting big runs, but not for consistent running. He had lots of loss of yardage rushes.

	The team names should clue people in this is the NFL. If anyone doesn't know that, they probably aren't going to tkae the quiz to begin with.

	@barnztormre: Actually, if you look at the careers of these guys, and look at the seasons they had after the season in question, the way the Lions used Sanders seems pretty sensible. Running backs take a pounding, and relying on them too heavily often means they fall apart. Unless they're Eric Dickerson. Also, Barry played 10 years, not 9.

	I agree, the Barry Sanders comment is pretty idiotic. The reason most of the guys on this list only appear once is because of the beating 370 carries would take on the body. Part of the reason Sanders rushed for over 1100 yards in all ten of his seasons is that he never had more than 343 carries in a season. Eric Dickerson was apparently just really, really lucky to avoid injury in all of those seasons, or he was just a total freak. On a humorous note, the wikipedia page on Wayne Fontes includes in its third sentence this line: "He is mostly known for ruining Andre Ware's professional career." (citation needed) Apparently even Andre Ware's mom can edit a wikipedia page.

	This would be better if you didn't show us the teams until after we get the answer. The way it's set up you don't really have to think about what running backs have had a lot of carries. It's just "name the given team's starting running back for the given year."

	By no means am I a Lions fan, but I'll duck into this conversation anyway. I want to get things cleared up on Wayne Fontes. I was unaware that the Detroit Lions were a perennial title contender, and they just handed Wayne Fontes a turn-key operation. But all you Lions fans are right - as soon as they ran him out of town, the Lions franchise has certainly been at the forefront of the title scene. Oh but for those "lost years" under Wayne Fontes, we'd be talking about the Lions the way we talk about the Steelers and Patriots (rolling eye emoticon).

	It's a crime more people haven't heard of James Wilder. "The Sikeston Train" carried the Missouri Tigers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on his back until his legs gave out. Just an FYI, but his son, James Wilder Jr., is one of the Top 10 high school recruits in the nation this year. Look for him to dominate in the near future.

	Yea James Wilder Jr. is going to tear it up at FSU under Jimbo Fisher and Eddie Gran. Oddly enough being a recruiting buff is the only reason I knew who Wilder was and got him on this quiz.

	Is this a football outsiders sponsored quiz? The curse of 370. Anyway, indyjeff, yo uhave a fine icon and are so right about what 370+ multiple years would have done to the amazing Barry Sanders. Wayne Fontes ruined Andre Ware? May be the funniest thing I've seen all week. Akili Smith, Jamarcus Russell, and Ryan Leaf no doubt blame him as well. Why not?

	For all of you 370 doubters, look what happened to the vast majority of these guys in the next year or two of their careers. Dickerson gets a pass as a blessed genetic freak, and maybe Emmitt Smith, Curtis Martin, and Payton. Who are all incredibly durable HOFers (though they may have seen statistical/health dips the next years, I don't know). The other dozen-plus guys were injured within the next year or two, many were out of football in that span. Some came back okay, but most were not the same.

	Plenty of college kids have carried the ball 370+ times in a season. Kevin Smith tied the record in 2007 w/450. I love cuttywise calling out someone else for being wrong when.....you get the picture.

	Crazy thing about this, other than Dickerson, after each of these seasons most of these running backs went on the decline of their career.
