I'm assuming I'm not the only one who got Rich Campbell because of Jason.

Boy, 2002 and 2007 were terrible years for QBs. David Carr, Patrick Ramsey, and Joey Harrington along with Brady Quinn and JaMarcus Russell, respectively.

Wow...Aikman and McNair must have been the only QBs taken in the 1st round their years

With regard to 1989, Aikman is correct IF you don't count the supplemental picks tacked on at the end of the first round. However, the NFL counts those as first round picks, so Aikman really shouldn't be the answer. @Swingo: McNair wasn't the only QB taken in the first round that year, but the other one has better career passing stats.

The 1982 guy has more days in prison than passing yards. And about to add more.

Yes, McNair was good, but Kerry Collins, also selected that year, has even more yardage.

@Swingo Mcnair and Kerry Collins were both picked in the first 5 picks in that years draft. Collins has about 9,000 more passing yards than Mcnair.

I think amwood is correct about the supplemental picks, perhaps a bonus would suffice as there were some terrible picks, 89 wasn't the only year with the supplemental picks either. 89 had Timm Rosenbach and Steve Walsh, two horrid NFL picks. Anyone recall when Steve Young and Bernie Kosar were picked earlier in the 80's as supplemental picks? I did enjoy the quiz!

I would have thought for sure that Todd Marijuanavich would have been tops (or bottom) for his draft year. Looks like he was beaten out by a few hundred yards to McGwire.

The McGwire brothers are interesting--Mark is about 6-5 and a mountain of real and synthetic muscle. Dan was, IIRC about 6-8 and a real risk (obviously). A third brother, the shortest but possibly heaviest of the family at 6 or 6-1 was a body-builder. I wonder where Mark got his 'roids.... I bet their family reunion flag football games are brutal.

Its easy to see where the 49ers fell off the rails: Montana, Young, then they select Druckenmiller and get 239 yards passing out of him? That record will stand as the lowest 1st Round passing total until some No. 1 is shot before the season begins. Geez, Cam Newton's career is only 1 game old and he has almost doubled Druckenmiller.

McNair wasn't the only QB. Kerry Collins went that year as well, and he (somehow) has more yards. The other guys on the list that were the only 1st round QBs selected that year are the guys for: 1981, 1997, 2000, and 2001. The reason Stafford is still the lowest is because he's been hurt, so Freeman and Sanchez have played a lot more games than he has.

very surprising that RG3 has less passing yards than weeden and tannehill, it shows how great a runner he is
