The name of the song is actually "Anchors Aweigh." Nice idea for a quiz.

a) I suggested back on Facebook, so thanks for making it happen b) Fight/Spirit songs might be more accurate. I know, for example, Tennessee folks will tell you that Rocky Top is not their fight song, despite how inseparable they are from it.

Awesome game. Big thumbs up for including Ramblin' Wreck, my personal favorite. I'd probably drop the time to two or three minutes though.

Good quiz. A little too SEC heavy for my liking. Also, where's Texas Fight? Maybe too easy of a clue.

I was about to say, it's "Yea Alabama", then I saw the comment was made. Roll Tide. Oh, and nothing wrong with the SEC, aka the best conference.

"step to the rear" (South Carolina) would be a good one, so would "Dynamite" (Vanderbilt). Alabama's fight song is Yea Alabama, but I can see how that would kinda give it away. Good quiz overall though, but i think it would be better with more obscure ones, and more in general.

You need to include "Victory March" for Notre Dame...one of the most famous fight songs.

By my count, just entering the names of each state will get you a good handful, and anyone who knows college sports knows what suffixes to try for a few extras. The only "tricky" ones would, in theory, be the ones identified mainly by acronyms, or private schools (the Tiger Rag being the only one I missed... ah well)

Should have put Big C on there instead. Sons of Westwood is just an adaptation of the Cal fight song.

Maybe a little nitpicky, but Michigan's fight song is actually titled "The Victors." Great quiz!

If we're getting technical, Notre Dame's is "The Notre Dame Victory March," but obviously you can't put that in. So I guess leave it as is. Pointless comment FTW!

As someone from Boston who couldn't care less about college football, this quiz was waaaay too easy. Put in some well known, but non BCS songs. You know, something from when college football was great before it was taken over by big money.

tried at least 100 versions of Texas A & M, wouldn't accept any of them.

I don't care about sports at all, so I think 8 is really good being I just constantly guessed! I was wondering how I got "Tennessee," when I hadn't guessed it! Then I figured it out that I typed "Utah," quickly enough to not register as something else, but when I deleted the H, I paused to talk and it took UTA!

@journey2688 Yes, I tried versions of LSU more than once. I live in Lake Charles, LA - across the state from Baton Rouge.

"Rocky Top" is not the fight song of the University of Tennessee. Tennessee's fight song, borrowed from Yale, is "Down the Field", although their band certainly plays "Rocky Top" often. http://www.utk.edu/athletics/tn_songs.shtml

@ RootingForMeteor: A friend of mine (who grew up a fan of the Ohio State) said that Ohio State has different fight song for every team in the Big Ten, or a different version of their fight song or something like that. Maybe "Across the Field" is one of them and "Buckeye Battlecry" is another.

No rootingformeteor. The fight song is Across The Field. And shouldn't the correct answer be The Ohio State University? At least that's what all the players say they are from on NFL games. Just a thought

Technically, it's The Ohio State University, but I think for the purposes of this game it's fine the way it is. Also, technically, the fight song is titled "Fight the Team Across the Field" but it's been commonly shortened to either "Fight the Team" or "Across the Field." Buckeye Battle Cry is the song the band plays when they come onto the field to perform Script Ohio. I'm not sure who came up with there being different fight songs for individual Big 10 teams, that's just not true.

From my years as a sportswriter, I can say with confidence that "On Wisconsin" is probably one of the three most copied fight songs in the nation (along with The Victors and The Notre Dame Victory March. Kinda surprised not to see it on there.

I missed the two that had colors. I couldn't think of Florida for some reason. Some of these were too easy. Aggies always makes me think A&M. Anyone who follows football knows Rocky Top, Rambling Wreck, Boomer Sooner, and the Victors.
