while i truly do love this site, i think when we are being asked to name movies directed by brian de palma, that's a sign that someone is really grasping at new ideas for quizzes.

I disagree entirely. If Adam Sandler can get his own quiz, then De Palma should definitely get one. He's worthy of one simply for directing The Untouchables and Carlito's Way, which are absolute classics.

Not to mention a little movie called Carrie.

There's a reason it's called "trivia"--the knowledge is completely trivial. Whether you're guessing the films of Hitchcock or Scorsese or whether you're guessing the films of a lower-tier (though still fairly notable and talented) director, it's all irrelevant information. It's for fun. Knowing who directed Scarface will never help you in real life but neither will knowing the names of all the major characters in Harry Potter.

I may be in the minority on this one, but I thought "Femme Fatale" was a pretty underrated movie. And then there's the older great stuff like "Sisters" and "Carrie". Yeah, he's a bit hit and miss - but he's still a pretty great director, in my opinion.

Easily my least favorite director, as he doesn't seem to have an original thought in his head. But amazingly I managed to name most of these!
