	This has to be the most exhaustive list of anything I've seen on Sporcle. I love the inclusion of many, many variations of words - that helps quite a bit. Just like Tolkien himself, I can only dream of such verbose productivity. Nicely done!

	I couldn't get "mince-pie, mincemeat" unless I typed "mincemeat" which was frustrating---typing "mince" "mincepie" or "mince-pie" didn't seem to work.

	This quiz was (a) worth it just for the bonus answers and (b) especially interesting just after the “most-eaten livestock” quiz; I found myself really disappointed that camel wasn’t on the list.

	@meke1231: I cannot recall how I hypenated it before...I did try to be liberal on what I accepted but I don't have access to edit now, sorry. @severian: True, I was a little subjective in what was permissible. I just figured pasta wasn't around in Middle-Earth and the exasperation was just that. @PK9I know I took simply man, men, humans, and flesh. It must be that man-flesh was a screenplay invention or I could have overlooked it. Again, no editing capability for me now. :)

	If you're going to accept both the general and specific for things, that should be noted in the instructions, not an archived comment. My wife & I missed things like 'vegetables', 'nuts' and 'liquor' because we were only putting in the specifics.

	It's interesting the overlaps with the "Foods Named in the Bible" quiz. Other than the occasional locust or ent-draught, there's a lot in common.

	really good, but the answers are very specific and then there are general ones, like fruit or meat...just a bit confusing. Dumplings aren't actually eaten either, it's a reference to how Wil Whitfoot looked after he was covered in white dust

	@evanslaura_17: fair play. If you look in the archived comments I did give some instruction around general/specific, but it is hard to see now. On dumplings, you are right--my logic here was something like: 1) can the item be eaten? 2) is the item mentioned during a time a character is hungry or about to eat a meal? 3) is it reasonable to assume food item would have existed based on Middle-Earth technology? I hope some combination of 2/3 are right, and if so, it was included. This is why heather makes the cut but noodles do not, etc. Hope you enjoyed all the same :)

	@cryptus: while I know the quiz has its flaws, I did try to include book terms as alternates when possible. The orc-liquor is never really given an official name, so I was very forgiving there. Conversely, ent-draughts are clearly identified as such and are memorable in both text and film. Both the online Encyc. of Arda and Robert Foster's Complete Guide to Middle-Earth have entries for ent-draughts with no alternate name. Maybe it was restrictive of me, but I was trying to be logical.

	I see strawberr, blackberr, raspberr etc are accepted; could you just accept the -berry ending (and other singulars of plurals, as applicable)? It doesn't always take when it's typed quickly.

	I got honey, and I got cake, but I didn't get honey-cake. XD Shame on me. This was so much fun! Very very hard, but fun! I was having more luck with the bonus answers than the real ones! And kudos to whoever found all those. Where is coffee mentioned? XD I was specifically not typing it in because I was sure it wouldn't be there. Gah....
