Need to take some variations here. New York's real name doesn't have "city" in it, so it makes no sense to force us to include it. Juarez likewise should not require Ciudad. I couldn't make Nezahualcoyotl take even after I looked up the spelling, might be my fault. However, it's commonly spelled with a t as well, so you should take that.

Thank you for your suggestions, I will them under consideration. I'm pretty sure that New York City is New York City and not just New York, but I will be sure to double check that. I like the idea of just Juarez instead of Ciudad Juarez. Finally, I will look at Nezahualcoyotl once again. Thank you.

After checking, New York City is officially New York City, Ciudad Juarez will turn to Juarez and I will keep Nezahualcoyotl the way it is. Thank you for your suggestions.

You need to accept Ecatepec de Morelos since that's the name...or just Ecatepec as its normally called. And Zapopan is spelled wrong. Also, New York City is not officially New York City...it is "City of New York." The word "City" is just added to distinguish it from the rest of the state. But it is officially just "New York." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyc

New York is definitely not New York City. On all official documents it is referred to as "New York" or "City of New York", just as, for instance, LA is referred to as "City of Los Angeles" or Portland is "City of Portland". The "city" part is a convention to distinguish it from the state in which it resides.

I know you said not to comment, but New York City should be just New York. Sorry!

Wikipedia research indicates that both Guatemala (City) and San Pedro Sula, Honduras have municipal populations in excess of 1,100,000.

Its common sporcle predicate to allow "New York" instead of "New York City."

From the 2000 US census populations: 1.New York city, 2.Los Angeles city, 29.Oklahoma City city and 350.Arlington Heights village. Seems pretty clear that "New York City" is wrong.

If you're going to include "City" with "New York" then you better put "El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles del Río de Porciúncula" for "Los Angeles."
