The current ones are confusingly inconsistent: e.g. "spasiba" reflects the pronunciation, not the spelling, which would transliterate directly as "spasibo" (both are quite common and should ideally be accepted); on the other hand, "zdravstvujte" is very literal to the spelling: the first "v" is not pronounced and so is often omitted in transliteration, while the "uj" can also be transliterated "uy" or "ui", and the final "te" can also be "tje" or "tye". |
