| @Austerlitz: I think this index focuses a lot of environmental sustainability, and European countries, while developed, are not the most sustainable. Their per capita emissions, buying of wildlife products (e.g. whaling), generation of waste per capita is high. But then, how do Saudi and China make the list!? However, Cuba and Sri Lanka, I completely understand. Cuba has some of the world's best infrastructure and is by any definition a happy country to live in. That is, unless you're a rich guy who got sent to Miami by Castro. But then very few Cubans are. |
