This is surprisingly a really good concept for a quiz, and tons of fun too. Keep em coming.

Theoretically, ununoctium is a noble gas. I don't know if this has been proven in any way, but that's where it is on the periodic table: in the noble gas column.

Ununoctium being in the noble gas column isn't exactly a theory that supports it being a noble gas. In fact, the limited research that has been done on the "gas" indicate that it's actually a solid at normal temperatures, and therefore, not a noble gas.

Nice idea. "Castle" would be helpful as an alternate for rook.

Just grateful the quiz didn't require the spelling of Beauregarde! (10 minutes might still not have been enough)

I'm thrilled that Ununoctium was included as a bonus. I didn't know it, mind you, but looked it up, came back and tried it on my second attempt. So great.

What about Olive, the other reindeer? You know, the one who used to laugh and call Rudolph names.

What I learned from this quiz: I know chess and Roald Dahl. I somewhat know elements. I really need to study up on Christmas folklore and NASA. And it is important to look at how much time you have before playing a Sporcle quiz.

Having never seen Willy Wonka, I do not feel bad knowing only one of their names. Definitely not a movie that I ever want to see.

Just curious... Why is Rudolph extra when naming the Santa's reindeer?

@Dorkle: Rudolph isn't one of the "original" reindeer. Check the Clement Moore-credited poem, "A Visit from Santa Claus/St Nicholas" aka "('Twas) The Night Before Christmas." The poem states that Santa calls the reindeer by name.
Rudolph was the creation of a man named Robert May while an employee of Montgomery Ward more than a century after the Moore poem first appeared. The song came out nearly a decade later and when the full version of the song is performed, it has an intro that starts with a list of all the reindeer that "you know" and ends with the question "do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?" (Most people leave off the intro when including the song as part of their Christmas caroling.)

Can you please make it more clear what "Wonka Kids" means? I have seen the movie and read the book, know who the kids are and didn't know it was asking about that.

Sporcle - no place like it. Only a place like here could you spark a dispute about the REAL names of Santa's reindeer...

Thanks for accepting Endeavor. Why does the U.S. spell that shuttle with a 'u' (Endeavour), if that's how it's spelled in the UK? (We Americans don't seem to use that pesky 'u' with words like endeavor, color, or favorite).

Ah, one-minute quizzes. Turning minor speed bumps ("Veruca" isn't spelled with a k?) into complete disasters.

Endeavour was named for a famous sailing ship of that name. Is Charlie Bucket related to Richard Bucket, who married Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced bouquet)?
