yugoslavia is no longer a country. also, bosnia-herzegovina is part of what was once called yugoslavia.

I'd guess that some of the foreign born Swedish population was born when Yugoslavia was still a country, so that's how they're listed.

That is it exactly, it all depends on country of birth - not whatever country happens to control the area now. There is not even any way to know which present-day country they were born in - so how could they be counted as such?

I don't think it's too much to ask that the instructions have a note to indicate that some countries may be currently defunct, or perhaps an asterisk by those that are.

If we're talking about origin of those people born then it should be consistent, surely we'd have West Germany and USSR in this list as well

I don't think this list was conducted in 2010 if it includes Yugoslavia..
