	At NO place does Michigan have a "land" border with Canada. You must cross a bridge, go through a tunnel or hop in a boat to get there. So TECHNICALLY, one shouldn't count Michigan either. Better to just include OH and PA.

	You can't drive to Ohio or Pennsylvania, you can drive to michigan.

	@American - that's not a land border. You can drive to Singapore from Malaysia; doesn't mean they have a land border. Nice try; Michigan needs to go.

	I suppose Michigan is included because, aside from Lakes Superior and Huron, the southeast border near Detroit includes the St. Clair River and the Detroit River... and states on opposite sides of a river are generally considered to be bordering each other. Surprised Alaska is least guessed... then again, maybe some people didn't think outside the lower 48. ;)

	By several of the above people's reasoning in not including Michigan, Texas does not border Mexico. I don't think anyone would argue that Texas does not border Mexico! Keep Michigan in!

	I should point out that Alaska has the longest border with Canada(Yukon Territory and British Columbia) and Idaho is the shortest, also with British Columbia

	Michigan has a river between Detroit and Canada. You should include all the states that border Canada by body of water also. Includes Michigan, Pennslyvania, and Ohio.

	Michigan and Ontario DO share a land border. look up Big Muscamoot Bay in google maps. there is a small portion of an island in that bay that is split with the US
