I find it hard to believe that Mexico > Monaco and Libya > Liechtenstein.

That is because it is GDP and not GDP per capita. Hope you enjoyed the game! Should I add an extra minute or would that make it too easy?

Add a minute. I had to sit and think a few times.

I am slightly surprised Italy manages to beat out both India and Indonesia, in spite of the huge population difference. I was of the impression that both India and China were rapidly becoming economical powerhouses of late.

Oman, Qatar and Yemen are no-brainers. There are no other "O"/"Q"/"Z" countries so they are always these letters answer in any "Country per letter quiz"

I got them all with four seconds left, so the time was good.

Good quiz! Ideally I'd like to see what the GDPs actually are, but that's a minor quibble...

No, cuendillar, you're right. India's GDP is 3 trillion while Italy's GDP is 1.8.

I was likewise surprised about India and Italy. Not sure if you adjusted the time, but a little more would have been helpful, although I'm kicking myself for missing the ones I did miss.

@ dipseydoo: what is your source for that claim? Both the linked IMF list and the other two sources Wikipedia quotes (World Bank and CIA) have India around 1.2 trillion and Italy around 2.3. They are 2008 numbers, but I don't think India has more than doubled its GDP in one year.

@recklessness: I had no idea Yemen started with a Z. Boy, do I feel stupid.

Love the quiz, but I think if you had a hint category that stated the GDP, it might be helpful. Then you probably wouldn't need to add a minute.

Almost forgot about Kuwait. I tried every "K" country I could think of -- even Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, and Kiribati, even though I *knew* they couldn't have the highest GDP for "K" countries. And the only way I got Libya was by guessing "L" countries. I always thought Libya was pretty poor, but maybe so are all the other "L" countries. Fun quiz, AlexRandom. Thanks for making it.

even Iran would probably have a higher GDP than Italy never mind India and Indonesia

Now you should do lowest GDP/capita, that way it will most likely include less well known countries

@ jcos: I intend to do eventually the lowest GDP and the highest and lowest GDP/capita versions, but probably won't be able to start on that before a week from now or so.
