| Only a minor detail: Feb. 30th, 1712 was added in Sweden to revert back to the Julian, not to the Gregorian calendar. In 1712 the date in Sweden didn't agree with the Julian nor with the Gregorian calendar (they were 1 day ahead of Julian and 10 days behind Gregorian). So they decided to add Feb. 30th to agree with the Julian calendar (used in Protestant and Orthodox countries) rather than with the Gregorian (used in Catholic countries). They adopted definitely Gregorian (dropping 11 days) at mid-century (roughly when Great Britain did). |
