| @Grubb - you guys just won the World Series, and you're complaining about something that happened 26 years ago? That's pathetic. Bad calls happen in baseball. It sucks, but it's the way of things. And Denkinger didn't even clearly decide the game. The lead off runner getting on is bad, but it wasn't Denkinger who caused the Cardinals to blow a routine pop-up, give up a passed ball, allow to hits, and fail to tag the winning run at the plate. (And note that, even if Orta had been out, it's totally possible that the Royals could have tied the game or won it anyway) It's certainly not Denkinger's fault that the Cardinals then proceeded to get completely destroyed in Game 7. And, again, this happened over 25 years ago and your team just won the World Series! For God's sake. |
