Okay, so this discussion has happened dozens of times already. The NFL considers the 2008 champion to be the winner of the Super Bowl played in 2009. The reason they are the 2008 champion is because the regular season was played in 2008. For example, the '85 Bears and the '72 Dolphins won Super Bowls played in 1986 and 1973, respectively.

me too got every football one but that came much later... i was thinking of every team, and i passed over the titans--i kept trying the colts because i didnt remember them ever giving up the afc south...

Because they tied for the least amount of points that season. I listed the Lightning because they had fewer wins than the Kings.
