There are many different NFL MVP awards out there, just like there are many different NCAA Football player of year awards. The award that is most often referenced and is most respected is the AP award, just like the Heisman is more respected than the Maxwell or Walter Camp awards. It says in the notes that the AP MVPs are used for the NFL category, and neither Otto Graham nor Randall Cunningham ever won an AP MVP award. Graham won three UPI MVPs, and Cunningham won three Bert Bell awards.

I'm glad Slap Shot was on TV a couple of nights ago. I thought of that movie, typed in Eddie Shore and laughed when it turned out to be a correct answer.

@chrisofspades: I saw your quiz when I searched for similar quizzes. Apparently you're the only other person to have done this, which surprises me, and since I decided to separate MVPs by their sport, thus including three extra NFL players, I figured it was different enough that I wouldn't be remaking your quiz. It is really shocking to me that you and I are the only ones who have made this quiz.

Quizzes like this that have hockey always kill me. I'm not opposed to putting it in here, because I recognize that it is hugely popular, but because for the most part I only know Gretzky, Crosby, Ovechkin, and Brodeur, the hockey section always ends up tanking my score

I agree with Ben above. Hopefully people will start to make some "Big 3" sports quizzes and leave out hockey.

I don't see what you accomplish by complaining about the inclusion of hockey in North American sports quizzes. You don't see any comments on the Periodic Table quiz complaining about the inclusion of the Actinides or Lanthanides because people don't know them as well. They're a major part of the periodic table, just like hockey is a major part of North American sports, whether you are in to it or not.
