Answers are the (non-Canadian) places of birth recorded by censuses of Canada East and West, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI (1861), Newfoundland (1857), and Red River (1858), either from the published census reports, info in various Canada Year Books, or on the Statistics Canada wesbite. For the UK the censuses recorded certain subdivisions rather than the entire country. Other countries and colonies may be joined together but each part should bring up the answer. Remember also that some other countries may no longer exist!
