| @gopaladins: Newcastle and West Brom are coming straight back up, they were by far the best two teams in the Championship this season. Blackpool are also promoted, having won the play-offs by beating Cardiff City in the play-off final. Neither Blackpool nor Cardiff have ever played in the Premier League, and it's very likely indeed that Blackpool will be relegated straight away next season - they are a small club, without much money, and with a very small stadium by Premier League standards (about 13000 I think). Had Cardiff won, they would have become the first Welsh club to play in the Premier League.
As it stands, the three clubs relegated this season, Portsmouth, Burnley, and Hull City are not exactly favoured to come back up next year, although the Championship should be a very open league next season, so who knows! |
