Excellent quiz. Had to bend my brain a little for the three most recent entries.

Um, I don't know why I'm admitting to this, but I forgot Canada and Mexico. I should be banished from geography quizzes.

Ireland was part of the UK in 1830-1900. Shouldn't it be "Ireland" and "Great Britain"?

I'm assuming this means thousands of immigrants since the previous census, otherwise the numbers wouldn't really make sense.

Good quiz, but johnlk is right - Ireland was part of the UK until 1922, though I realise your source also lists Ireland and the UK separately.

This shouldn't be called "foreign born population;" it should be called "immigration by year." The foreign born population is much higher than that; this is just the amount who immigrated in that particular year. For example, I'm sure that in 2007, the US had more than 11,740 Mexicans living in it; that's just the number that (legally) immigrated in that year

I checked the source: The numbers given are the totals of foreign born population at that time in thousands... Example: In the time of an average lifespan, before 1900 2.663 mio Germans had immigrated...
