	Nemo, considering the fact that Mao Zedong's name wasn't originally written in English, there are inevitably going to be different romanizations. Just because your history book chose one doesn't mean that this is somehow the only way of spelling his last name, which, actually, is his first name, meaning that you really should accept just Mao in the first place. Go to your quiz and insert "/mao/mao zedong" under that there first row, please.

	Zedong would be the correct pinyin romanization, which is the most widely used system of romanization.

	mao tse tung is correct in china, but anglicized its mao zedong. 1) accept just mao or 2) accept both

	In reference to AddiSnow's comment, practically all of the mentioned got away with killing so many is because they killed their own people. It was only until Hitler started invading other countries that countries like the UK and France started doing something about it.

	Really need to fix the Mao thing - you say surnames are acceptable, but then don't let us use the Eastern equivalents of surnames. Maybe for Kim Il-Sung it's acceptable to distinguish him from his son, but the Mao thing is bad. Also, accept hyphens - I tried Mao Tze-tung and it didn't accept it.

	Source? 35 million for Mao sounds like a low estimate, I have usually heard around 50-70 million attributed to him (counting in the famine caused by the great leap forward). Also, Lenin should definitely be on this list.

	"Saddam" should be acceptable for Saddam Hussein (whose full name was Saddam Hussein Abd Al-Majid Al-Tikriti). Al-Tikriti demarcates his place of birth, and Hussein Abd Al-Majid is simply his father's name. His name, simply, was 'Saddam' - which is how he's named in historical and contemporary journalistic records.

	Hitler wasn't from Germany, Stalin wasn't from Russia. If it accept surnames for Hitler/Amin etc should accept Pot and Mao.

	I think it's understandable to not accept Kim, since lots of people would think it's Kim Jong-Il, plus Kim is incredibly common. Almost 22% of Koreans are named Kim. Mao or at least Mao Zedong should be accepted.
