	People who used steroids should not make the hall of fame, its just not fair and right for everybody else who work hard and dont use steroids

	Look at that steroid explosion in the late '60s. Seven guys made it in a few years, when only four had done it before? Obviously Aaron, Mays, Robinson et al should not be in the HOF.

	TY Nuclear knuckles I mention that all the time when people talk about the explosion of the 500 HR club of late and notice after only 3 guys hit 500 HR through 1959 from 1960-1971 8 guys did it. and then from 1972-1998 only 4 more joined...of course from 1999-present we have seen 9 new members, but still i prefer to enjoy and not judge

	Of course Thome is clean. He hit 30 home runs like his first year in the league and with all this speculation continues to hit 40.

	IMO even players on steroids should make the HOF, same with Pete Rose and his gambling. Cheating has always been a part of baseball, from over "tarred" bats, to long and sharpened spikes to pitchers putting everything from spit to vasoline on the ball to get more curve. Steroid should be illegal today, but players who used and didn't get caught should be HOF's, as I'm sure many HOF's cheated in other ways to make a name for themselves.

	Tell me, D-Dog, what is it I don't know? A huge group of players suddenly reached 500 home runs in the '60s/'70s when hardly anyone had done so before. So do groups of players hit lots of HR because of steroids, or might there possibly be other environmental factors to consider?

	Don Sutton and Gaylord Perry (just to name two) don't even DENY that they cheated by doctoring the baseballs, and they are both in the Hall. But we keep McGwire out? And likely Palmeiro, Bonds, etc... Just another example of selective judgment by the genius writers who get to vote.

	Oddly enough, I got 17, but of the 8 I missed, the last six on the list were amongst them. I can distinctly remember hearing about all them hitting their 500th HR but just couldn't think of them for some reason.

	This quiz won't need nearly as many updates in the coming years as in the last few. I see only 2 names on the horizon - Delgado will probably reach 500 next season, then Pujols in maybe 3+ years. Then who? Adam Dunn? Will 500 HR hitters eventually go the way of 300 game winners, i.e. extinction?
