	For the strummed stringed musical instrument - Lute has to be accepted. It fills the criteria and it's four letters. case closed.

	Great idea. I looooove me some crossword puzzles, and I definitely see a lot of these all the time. I kept coming up with "lute" for the musical instrument (I'm not sure if a lute is strummed or not), but I finally thought of it. There were a couple others that I missed and definitely should not have (damn you, Oona!), but i was just happy to see something like this.

	Also, I think "erne" would be better if the clue was about the river and the type of eagle- I feel as if I see that one in reference to the latter more often than I see it in reference to the former. Still, it's an awesome quiz, and I'm just nitpicking.

	@Eric LeVasseur: Yeah, when did we decide to no longer spell "Tsar" like "Czar"? I realize that both have been acceptable for a long time, but it seems as though "Czar" has fallen away in the past ten years or so (which is odd, given it's derivation and all).

	ruth - INRI stands for Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews (in latin, there is no 'j' so Jesus and Jerusalem are spelled with an i....and the r is for Rex, for king)
