	Mike, you're right that Randy Johnson will probably be added to the list next year, but he's actually at 295, not 499. That'd be pretty impressive if he was actually approaching Cy Young's total, but he's not. And I doubt anyone ever will - that's probably one of the few unbreakable records left.

	I only know cricket here in the West Indies. Was able to get Clemens, Cy Young, Nolan Ryan and Walter Johnson cuz I typed "Johnson" trying to get Randy Johnson.

	Cy Young's record of most losses is also unlikely to be broken. The "win" stat is pretty silly, it is evidence primarily of longevity and the quality of the other players on the team.

	Daniel: Wins (and losses) meant more in Cy's time because everyone was throwing nearly 40-50% complete games. Nowadays, you throw 6 and pray that your bullpen holds the lead.

	Tough quiz to get all of them, because of the number of guys who did it in the 1800s. Got all but one of the 20th century pitchers, though.

	Folks, there are few certainties in life. But saying that nobody will ever break Young's record is one of them. A most losses quiz would be nice. you'd probably see most of these people on it as well.

	Actually only the 2nd half of Young's career is during the dead-ball era (c. 1900-1919). There weren't many homers before that, but there was still a lot of scoring at times (over 7 runs per game in 1894, I think).

	@guyleguy - That doesn't change the fact that wins are just as dependent on run support as they are on a pitcher's performance,and are a crappy way of assessing performance.

	whether wins are a good barometer or not if you have 511 wins you WERE a great pitcher regardless of era Dang, I didn't know they had baseball in the 1800's. LOL. Young was very impressive though with his 500 plus wins. I doubt anybody will ever break that record. You doubt,there is no doubt.After RJ there may never be another 300 game winner.Do you realize how many 20 win seasons you need just to get to 300?Teams don't use starters like they did 25 years ago let alone 100 years ago.

	To anybody who "doubts" Young's record will never be broken, here's something to think about, a player can win 20 games for 20 straight seasons and would still be 111 wins short of Young's record. There is absolutely no doubt that his record will never be broken.

	@enwll3427 people said after clemens and maddux there wouldn't be another 300 game winner and then we got Glavine and now Johnson and if Mussina had stuck around a couple of more years he could have done it too...Heck jamie Moyer might pitch till he's 50 and get there at this rate...never say never although Cy's record of 511 wins will NEVER be broken..what was I saying again?
