| @colt45 If you're looking for parity in baseball, consider this: there are 30 teams, which means the quickest all of them can win a championship is 30 years. In the last 30 World Series (1981-2011, excluding '94), 19 teams have won the World Series. That's 63% parity, if you like. Comparing this to the other leagues: the NHL has had 16 champions in thirty years (53%); 15 teams have won the Super Bowl in the last 32 years (47%); and the NBA has had nine champions in thirty years (30%). So I'm not sure a lack of parity is a problem faced by baseball. |
