| In 1904, Alton Parker won every confederate state; in 1908 Bryan did it again. TR and Taft were the GOP candidates, and as such had no presence in the South. I'd also note that, officially (in terms of what it said on the ballot, and where he was registered to vote - he'd been living there for about 6 years before 1968), Nixon's home state in 1968 was New York, and Humphrey won it. It ought to at least be a bonus answer. |
