| This really needs some refinement and probably corrections. There are plenty of FBS teams that haven't been to a major bowl. I assume teams like Troy aren't included because they are pretty new to FBS/D1A. So, what's the cutoff? Looks like 1980, because that's the most recent "last appearance". It's hard to find what constitutes being a D1A equivalent team, but http://homepages.cae.wisc.edu/~dwilson/rsfc/history/Maj1A.txt lists Memphis, Southern Miss, New Mexico St, most MAC teams, and probably a couple more all D1A level well before 1980. If you want to keep out the new, minor FBS schools, limit the quiz to the current BCS AQ conference schools--the 6 majors. |
