@Jeffhabfan: Well, you're partly right. It is the name of the country in every language--except for those people who insist on still living in the English-speaking world circa 1970.
As an aside, there are other countries that still use *their* language versions in common use (Spanish-speaking countries use "Costa de Marfil," Portugal and Brazil use "Costa do Marfim," and German-speaking countries use "Elfenbeinküste") but will use "Cote d'Ivoire" for official purposes. |
