If a team moved and is now in a different location, they still count as the same team. For example, the Philadelphia Warriors count as the Golden State Warriors.

OKC changed from the Supersonics, who won a championship in 1979. That fits your rules and should be accepted.

ditto to previous comment. as you except Washington Wizards when actually they were the Washington Bullets when they won.

Sacramento Kings were previously the Rochester Royals, who won a championship in 1951.

I don't consider the Thunder to have won a championship I know the Sonics did but OKC doesn't have any banners in their building

Why are the Washington Wizards and Baltimore Bullers both listed when they are the same franchise?
Jun 12th, 2012 at 20:34 GMT
Sorry! Fixed it.

Actually you had it correct the first time. The Baltimore Bullets won the very first championship (BAA then before it become the NBA a few years later), but that franchise went defunct. A later franchise, which started as the Baltimore Bullets, then moved to Washington and won a championship there in 1978 as the Washington Bullets. That franchise later changed its name to the Washington Wizards. But that is a different franchise than the original Baltimore Bullets that won the 1948 championship and went defunct after 7 years in the league.

Thanks for the info. I changed it back.

For whatever it's worth the current day Wizards did not start as the Baltimore Bullets. They spent two years in Chicago prior to moving to Baltimore in the early to mid sixties.
